Wild Nature Trips was born from a life deeply rooted in nature and its protection.

Cloé, the agency's founder, is a biologist and conservationist. She worked for several years in the field protecting wildlife and ecosystems, and continues this commitment today through uniquely designed trips.

This immersive nature trip was conceived

to bring together people who share the same love for the natural world—whether they are naturalists, biologists, wildlife photographers, or simply passionate about nature, without necessarily making it their profession.

The trip takes place in the heart of Gunung Leuser National Park in Sumatra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the last refuges for many iconic species.

Cloé lived and worked there as a manager and nature conservation teacher in the village of Bukit Lawang.

This intimate knowledge of the terrain has allowed her to design a unique itinerary and to surround herself with experienced local guides, renowned for their keen observation skills, ethical approach, and respect for wildlife.

They maximize your chances of observing sometimes elusive animals in the best possible conditions—always with a respectful and responsible approach.

This trip is above all an invitation to slow down, observe, understand, and reconnect with nature in an authentic and unspoiled setting.

🌿 The Spirit of the Trip

This trip was designed to allow you to take your time.

Time to walk, observe, listen, and understand the Sumatran rainforest.

Here, the experience is based on a slow and respectful immersion, far from mass tourism. Wildlife observation takes place calmly, at a distance, following ethical naturalist practices.

The goal is not to "tick off species," but to better understand the ecosystems and the relationships that shape them.

Groups are intentionally small to preserve the quality of observations, limit the impact on the environment, and encourage interaction.

💚 Who is this trip for?

This trip is for anyone who feels a genuine curiosity for nature and living things.

✔ Nature lovers and those who appreciate wild spaces
✔ Curious about tropical flora and fauna
✔ Nature photographers, amateur or professional
✔ Naturalists, biologists, students
✔ People without a scientific background, but sensitive to observation and respect for living things
No expertise is required: the desire to learn, observe, and respect nature is essential.

❌ This trip is not suitable if you are looking for:

  • fast-paced, intensive tourism

  • not to be immersed in nature and local communities

  • a trip where immersion in nature is not the priority

🐾 What you will experience

You will explore Gunung Leuser National Park through treks adapted to the group's pace, in the heart of one of the world's richest primary rainforests.

The outings are designed around naturalist themes: primary rainforest in search of orangutans (but also gibbons, macaques, giant trees, etc.), treks to see birds at dawn, nighttime explorations dedicated to reptiles, amphibians, and insects, and areas frequented by bats.

The trip also includes time to interact with the guides, moments of local life in Bukit Lawang, and more relaxing experiences such as tubing on the river, swimming, and rest in nature.

Each day is different, guided by the terrain, the weather, and the encounters you have.

🌱Why this trip is different

This trip was designed by a biologist and conservationist who lived and worked for several years in Bukit Lawang. Her in-depth knowledge of the area allows for a nuanced, realistic, and respectful approach to the forest.

The local guides who accompany you are selected for their expertise, their keen observation skills, and their commitment to wildlife conservation.

The trek will be zero waste and palm-oil free!

Unique in Bukit Lawang!

The entire trip is part of an ethical approach, working in partnership with local conservation efforts and communities, so that tourism becomes a tool to support the protection of these unique ecosystems.
