Safety & Supervision

Safety and respect for the jungle are at the heart of our approach.

This page explains why each trek is led by a full local team and how the on-the-ground organization ensures a safe, ethical, and responsible experience.

The local team: complementary roles

A jungle trek is a well-organised team effort.
Each person plays an essential role in ensuring your safety, comfort and a smooth experience.

Guide
The trek leader and main point of contact. They choose the route, select camp locations, adapt plans when needed and coordinate the whole team. They guide the group through the jungle and share their knowledge along the way.

Assistant guides
Always close to the group, they help spot wildlife, secure tricky sections of the trail and provide extra support when needed. They carry fruit and lunch supplies and can lend a hand with bags or children.

Cook & assistant cook
The unsung heroes of the trek. They carry food and equipment to the campsite each day, set up sleeping areas and prepare all meals over a wood fire. They also bring the tubing equipment for the final day’s river return.

By travelling with Wild Nature Trips, you directly support this local team and their expertise.

Safety

  • Your safety is our priority. Guides and assistants stay close to the group, provide clear instructions and adjust the pace to minimize risks.

  • In case of an incident (such as a sprained ankle), the local guides’ rescue team can intervene directly in the jungle and organise evacuation to the road, then to an ambulance and the nearest appropriate hospital.

  • We strongly recommend travelling with insurance that covers outdoor activities. Wild Nature Trips can advise you on suitable coverage during booking.
